MDINA, sometimes also refereed to as the 'Silent City' is Malta's old capital city. This town goes back to prehistory times, where the first settlers occupied the city. Over the years the rulers of Malta continued to built on this city until the period of the Knights of St. John.  The name Noble City came about when it was the favourite residence of the island’s aristocracy and the seat of the “Universita’”. The adjacent town to Mdina, RABAT was once part of the city. The narrow streets of Rabat are rich in history and architecture too. This tour ends with a visit to San Anton Gardens, dating back to the 17th Century and today is the residence of the President of Malta.
