Declared European City of Culture 2018, Valletta is Malta's gem. This unique baroque city is home to a number of auberges, castiles and churches, and it overlooks harbours and creeks on both sides. Given its grid like layout and small size, the city can easily be explored on foot, and the visitor will be well rewarded with expansive views, quaint shops selling all manner of goods, and above all stunning architecture.
